What’s in a name? Danielle Joy has explored this notion over 15 years of writing and performing in the Australian Music industry. First as Danielle-J creating contemporary music before exploring country music with her first single ‘Beautiful Stranger’ receiving international radio play. As she grew in country music so did the new name ‘Danni Jay.’

Having performed up and down the east cost of Australia for public and private functions from jazz to country to contemporary, a highlight; opening the World Masters Championships. As well as receiving nominations for various country music events she then faced the unsteadiness of the pandemic and an injured music industry.

In 2025 working through burnout she heard the lord say “it’s time to make music for me now.” Sitting at her piano with tears in her eyes and shaking hands convinced she couldn’t do this anymore ‘Break My Heart Open Wide’ and ‘Cover Me’ were born. The Lord, her cowriter for every note and melody.
